Bugaboo Cameleon & Donkey Carry Handle

Bugaboo have the following announcement in regards to the carry handle for the Bugaboo Cameleon and Donkey.

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers is paramount at Bugaboo, and we value your cooperation in reporting important information about Bugaboo products.

Bugaboo is reaching out to customers to provide a new and improved carry handle for the Bugaboo Cameleon and Bugaboo Donkey. This Bugaboo quality initiative will help address some customer reports that under certain conditions, the white button of the carry handle of the Bugaboo Cameleon and Bugaboo Donkey may pop out when the carrycot or seat is resting on the ground or placed on an unstable surface. If the white button pops out, the carry handle may detach on one side. A customer trying to use the carry handle in this situation will immediately recognize that the handle is faulty.

An external investigation of these customer reports confirms that the safety risk is low, and no injuries have been reported. While the Bugaboo Cameleon and Bugaboo Donkey continue to comply with all external regulatory and safety standards, we have improved the carry handle design.

Bugaboo is proactively making this improvement available at no cost to customers who have the affected products. Customers are encouraged to contact Bugaboo directly via www.bugaboo.com or by contacting Bugaboo customer service.

The Bugaboo Cameleon carry handle is available now. We expect delivery to be two weeks from the moment of registration, subject to stock availability. The new carry handle for the Bugaboo Donkey will become available from the

end of February/beginning of March 2013 onwards. Bugaboo will follow up with Bugaboo Donkey owners when the new handle will become available. Until customers receive the new and improved carry handle, they should remove their current carry handle from the stroller.

The Bugaboo Cameleon3 (launched September 2012) is not affected and already includes the new technical solution for the carry handle.
