Britax Product Recall Steelcraft Agile, BOB Motion, Hipod iFold
Britax have released today a PRODUCT RECALL NOTICE regarding selected Steelcraft Agile, Agile Plus, BOB Motion and Hipod i Fold Strollers.
We wish to advise that on 14th March we initiated a Product Safety Improvement action for our Steelcraft Agile, Agile Plus 4, Agile Twin, BOB Motion and Hipod i Fold strollers made prior to July 2013.
We are conducting this recall as part of action instigated by Britax in USA and Canada. In the United States there have been a small number of reported incidents where parents have suffered finger injuries when folding the USA Britax B-Agile 3 stroller and in four instances medical attention was required. As a result, the stroller has been subject to recall action in USA and Canada. The affected US model has a similar frame to strollers sold in Australia and New Zealand by Britax Childcare.
Even though there were few reported incidents in the United States, and no incidents reported in Australia, Britax Childcare has decided to offer free Hinge Cover Kits which you can fit yourself in the event that you have an affected stroller. The Steelcraft Agile strollers and BOB stroller were sold throughout Australian in Children’s Nursery Retailers and the Hipod i Fold stroller through Target. The Steelcraft Agile 3 Plus is not part of this action.
These strollers are still safe for use but when folding it is important that you release the button and then pull the release strap at the center of the seat with the same hand to avoid any risk of injury. Importantly, keep your fingers clear of the hinge when folding. See a video on http://goo.gl/KcoiS6
