Doll Pram
Dolls Prams I love a doll pram, not for me, a doll pram for my daughter. Saying that, I have adored looking and buying my little princess a doll pram, and shamefully she has more than one! Doll prams are just so gorgeous, they are just like my pram, or the pram I have always dreamed of, just smaller, a doll pram for a doll! (I just have to keep reminding myself it is a doll pram and not for a new baby!) I may be re living my childhood with my doll pram obsession, it’s simply the fact I …

Get your pram ready for the cold! Prams in winter, need pram covers of all sorts, rain covers, pram blankets, pram foot muffs, pram cocoons, any sort of pram cover to protect your babies and children in their pram from the elements of winter. Heated pram handles would be nice for mummy too! Prams for the whole family!
When I bought my first pram, I was planning to have 2 children, so I chose a pram that I could add a toddler seat – yes my OCD was present even when I went pram shopping! So whether you are expecting twins, or adding to your brood, you may be looking at double pram and toddler seat options. Your first pram choice is deciding on a side by side pram, or tandem prams. I loved my tandem pram for when I had a sleeping baby, my toddler could be strapped into his seat at the front of the pram …

Chocolate Stains – Pram cleaning tips
If your pram is starting to not look like it’s beautiful pram self, dried up bits of banana and yogurt on the pram straps, vegemite and cheese encrusted on to the pram seat, not to mention bits of rusk and sandwich squashed into every little pram nook and cranny – you’re not alone. My beautiful pram needed a daily spin in a hard core car wash, once my babies started eating food – when my mum refused to push my ‘revolting’ pram because it was so grubby, I knew it was time to take action. Usually know for my OCD …

How to avoid “pram envy”
My friend Emma suffers an almost debilitating pram envy. She “inherited” her pram from her sister-in-law who decided that she wanted to upgrade to a more celeb-approved model (the sister-in-law’s bought the iCandy Apple Jogger because she heard Victoria Beckham has one). Emma was pregnant at the time and hadn’t thought much about prams beyond their functionality so she bought the pre-loved pram. Now she realises that prams are more than just a comfy baby carriage on wheels. “I thought all prams were the same except for the price tag – and I saw a chance to get avoid buying …

Facing the world or mum?
Should your baby face you when you head out for a walk, or the big wide world? It’s a question that not only mothers have asked themselves – it was recently the subject of scientific research. In what seems to be an exercise in inspiring more guilt in mums, a study suggested that the popular front-facing strollers could “emotionally deprive” babies of their first lessons in life by discouraging their parents from talking to them. This University of Dundee study of 2722 sets of parents and their baby in a pram went on to say that infants facing forwards were …

Tyre-kicking dads
Can’t get “dad” excited about any of the baby stuff shopping? Well, the pram may be the one item that actually gets him actively involved in the selection process – provided you use the right language. That’s the beauty of prams today – they share terminology with that other popular male fascination, the car. So drop terms like “suspension”, “pneumatic tyres” and “off-road performance” and he should be hooked. And if that doesn’t work, just subtly hint to him that his lack of involvement could end up with him pushing a low-handled pram with a flowery canopy. Once he’s agreed …

My pram-buying wisdom
There are so many variables when buying a pram and where do you start? As a first-time mum I jumped at the first pram I saw. It looked great and seemed to have everything I needed. I thought would live up to all my needs… sadly did not. It was too heavy for me to lift into the boot and took up the whole boot space. The storage basket was too small, and it didn’t have an adjustable handle for my rather tall husband. If only I had taken on board what I had read. It’s a common trap by …
